Underground wedding at Carnglaze Caverns
A 1920’s themed wedding in the caverns at Carnglaze
A themed wedding is always great fun and even more so when all the guests make a huge effort to join in. So when Deanne and Andy told me they were planning a 1920’s themed wedding party at Lanhydrock Hotel and Golf Club before their underground wedding at Carnglaze Caverns, I was delighted.
And I was right to be excited! Every single guest dressed up – there were furs and pearls and even inflatable machine guns from the bygone days of prohibition!
Deanne never planned to be at the party as she was too busy getting ready elsewhere so it was even more important that I got some great shots for her to get an idea of the fun everyone had.
It was soon time to head off to nearby Carnglaze Caverns where an underground lakeside wedding ceremony was held. There’s a limit on how many people can be underground at any one time so while the families witnessed the wedding, friends remained above ground and continued the party.
Underground wedding photography at Carnglaze Caverns can be challenging but with a bit of planning, great images can be achieved so we spent a little time setting up some lights and took a few wedding portraits before the evening party got under way.
